What to Expect

We understand that it can be daunting walking into a place for the first time. This page is designed to answer the questions you might have, whether it's your first time in a church, or just your first time visiting Efford Christian Fellowship. Below is a short video entitled 'Visiting Us - What to Expect' and we also have some General Q & A's.

General Q & A's

Q. Do you have a dress code?
A. No, please dress in a way you are comfortable, casual is fine.

Q. Does it matter where I sit?
A. There are occasionally a couple of reserved seats with name badges on, but otherwise all empty chairs are free to use. If there aren't many free chairs left, someone will set an extra row out.

Q. Can I bring young children?
A. Absolutely! You can leave prams in the foyer area if you wish, or bring them into the main hall. There are toilets through a door on the right hand side as you walk into the foyer which includes an accessible toilet with baby change facilities. There is also a crèche room on the left as you walk through the hallway towards the main hall. Children in school years 1-6 are welcome to join Kidzplus downstairs in our youth area during the All Age Service.

Q. Do I have to join in with the singing?
A. We enjoy singing together, but don't feel under any pressure to join in if you would prefer not to.

Q. Should I take the bread and wine when offered?
A. If you come to the Breaking of Bread, you will be offered bread and wine towards the end of this service. The Bible teaches that this should be shared by those who have confessed their sins before God and know Jesus as their personal saviour. If this isn't you yet, then please just let the bread and wine pass by.

Q. How do the refreshments work?
A. Please help yourself to a drink and something to nibble. You will see tea, coffee, water and squash set out on tables in the foyer (on the right as you enter) - this has changed since the video above was taken.

Q. Who do I speak to if I have any questions while I'm there?
A. Please see the Meet the Team page to familiarise yourself with the leadership team. You will also be welcomed by someone at the front door on arrival who will be happy to answer any questions.

Q. How do I find ECF?
A. Please see the Map & Contact Details page if you need any help finding the church.

That's it - we look forward to meeting you! Still have questions? Contact us and we'll get back to you soon.
